Riverside Health Club Terms & Conditions

  1. Riverside Health Club direct debit memberships have a 12 month minimum term, and your nominated account will continue to be debited until RHC receives notification of cancellation. Please be aware if you wish to cancel your membership immediately at the end of the 12 month period you will need to lodge your membership cancellation request at least 30 days prior to the end of your contract. Memberships that are not cancelled will continue to roll on a monthly basis.
  2. You have the right to change your mind and cancel your membership within 14 days of the sign up date stated on your contract, provided you have not already started to use the club. If you have attended or used the gym facilities (or both) during the Cooling Off Period, your right to cancel your membership will be forfeit. If you decide to cancel any membership payments you have paid during the Cooling Off Period will be refunded. Your Joining Fee will not be refunded. If you decide to cancel your application, you must notify us in writing, you will need to notify your bank to cancel the direct debit.
  3. If you have reason to cancel your direct debit membership inside your 12 month contracted period, you need to notify RHC of your request to cancel in writing and also by filling out a ‘Cancellation request’ form which can be obtained from reception. This will need to include one of our valid reasons and where applicable, proof (i.e. medical note, redundancy confirmation etc) will be required. Please note that Reception and Fitness staff do not have authority to approve a cancellation (for further information on our Cancellations Terms/Policy please speak to Reception who will be able to give you a copy of this in writing). Should your request be successful, the cancellation will take effect 30 days from completing the paperwork.
  4. Short term memberships – Members wishing to continue on the 3 month cycle must continue to pay for 3 months upfront but will not be charged a recurring joining fee. Members must renew their memberships before the 3 month contract end date to be eligible for the no joining fee on the next agreement. If a period longer than 7 days passes between the expiry of the 3 month contract and the signing of the new contract, the full joining fee will be charged. Short term members wishing to become a full member are also required not be pay a joining fee associated with their new contract, providing this is done a maximum of 7 days after the 3 month contract end date. Any members wishing to cease use within the 3 month period will not be eligible for a refund of any kind.
  5. RHC reserves the right to change, modify or update rules and/or terms and conditions relating to your membership or use of the RHC facility. Any such changes will be made with reasonable notice and displayed prominently in and around the Health Club and on the RHC website - www.riversidehealthclub.co.uk
  6. You may upgrade your membership at any time. Membership downgrades within the 12 month obligation period are subject to a £30.00 processing fee, notification of downgrade must be given full contractual month before the next payment. Outside of the 12 month obligation, you may downgrade your membership free of charge with 1 month notice.
  7. Members will be able to freeze their membership. You must have been a member for at least 1 month, minimum freeze period is 4 weeks and maximum freeze period is 3 months. DD members will be charged £5.00 admin fee for each month that the membership is frozen, this has to be processed at least 5 working days before DD is due or full DD amount will be collected. No charge to annual members. You may freeze your membership a maximum of 2 times per contract and proof of reason must be presented. The period of membership will be extended according to the time that you Freeze i.e. if you freeze for one month your obligation date will be extended by one month.   8. Memberships are not transferable.
  9. RHC reserve the right to make any changes within the club i.e. layout, equipment available, classes and any services provided. Notices of changes will be visible within the Health Club.

General

  1. All members must attend a site orientation and Technogym induction prior to using the fitness studio.
  2. Members must bring their membership card and wellness key with them whenever they access the facility. Members will be required to check in using their membership card on arrival at the club. Replacement membership cards will be charged at £5.00 and wellness keys at £10.00.
  3. The management team reserve the right to refuse entry to any person deemed under the influence of alcohol or illegal substances.
  4. All comment and complaints will be dealt with by management and will be processed after the completion of a customer query form, these are available from reception.
  5. Scheduled activities are subject to change in unavoidable circumstances, however where possible we will endeavour to notify members 12hrs prior to the event.
  6. Children under the age of 8yrs must not be left unsupervised in any area of the club.
  7. Non-members will not be permitted access to the facilities unless they have a relevant pass or they are attending Bootcamp session, or have obtained special permission from a member of Management.
  8. Young adults between the ages of 16yrs and 18yrs are only permitted membership if a parent/legal guardian has a current membership at the club.
  9. Under 16’s will not be permitted to use the fitness suite at any time.
  10. Cancellation of appointment must be 24hrs prior to the event.

Fitness Suite

  1. Please ensure that appropriate fitness clothing is worn in the fitness suite, jeans are not permitted. Management reserve the right to refuse entry if they deem clothing unsuitable. Training shoes must be worn at all times unless you are in the stretch area.
  2. Please ensure that shoes are free from mud before entering the club.
  3. Improper use of the equipment will not be tolerated.
  4. Incorrect technique will be recognised and corrected by fitness staff.
  5. No food or chewing gum in the fitness suite.
  6. No bags or personal belongings other than fitness towel, wellness key and water bottle allowed in the fitness suite.
  7. Please wipe down the equipment after use using the gym wipes provided.
  8. The fitness suite is a mobile free zone. Please be courteous to other members and take calls outside of this area.
  9. Please ensure you check in and check out of the wellness system on every visit. Failure to do so will invalidate your workout data and may cause problems with your wellness key.
  10. Members are permitted access to the PT rooms at any time; however we ask that you use discretion if the area is busy.
  11. Please replace weights after use.
  12. Please remove your wellness key from your key bunch before inserting into the equipment to avoid damage to the Visio screens.
  13. Members are not permitted to bring their own weights or fitness equipment to the club (with exception to boxing gloves).
  14. When using the punch bag boxing gloves must always be worn.
  15. Please bring your own bottles for water – or purchase from the vending machine. Cups will not be provided for health and safety reasons.

Group Exercise Programme

  1. Classes are bookable 7 days in advance for full & class only members and 24 hours in advance for gym only members.
  2. Cancellations must be made 24hrs in advance and any no shows will be charged at the full class rate (£5.00) unforeseen circumstances will be considered by management.
  3. Classes can be booked via reception/telephone. This is advisable to avoid disappointment as there is a maximum capacity.
  4. Please arrive 5 minutes prior to the start time of your class; instructors have the right to refuse entry if the warm up has been missed.
  5. Appropriate clothing and footwear must be worn.
  6. If leaving the class early please inform the instructor of your intention.
  7. If you are a newcomer, pregnant or have any injuries or medical contraindications that may affect your ability to perform exercise please inform the instructor prior to the start of the class.
